Also, I’m pretty sure everyone wants to work, to be part of something, when they are treated well. It’s just that it’s hard to want to contribute when you are constantly told “contribute, or else” by how our current system works, I can’t blame people for not wanting to work in our hostile society

Problem is that currently, it is a tool that exhibits the worst parts of capitalism. It takes jobs, destroys the environment, makes everything more soulless and unpleasant, is used for the military, is trained on stolen works, and much more…
In a post-capitalism world, maybe it could be great, but currently it is one of the worse symptoms of capitalism. It needs to be stopped until we can make good use of it without harming people, which will never happen while we are still in a capitalist system
Currently, mostly AI and also feeling a bit isolated in a somewhat conservative town as someone who is queer

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do so many communities or even instances use AI for their icon/banner?English
1·8 days agoLike here, the white and black cat is the icon, while the orange cat is the banner:

11·9 days agoAgreed, even if I have a bit of a beef with upscaler in gaming like DLSS, and I’m talking of DLSS before the new disastrous one, because I feel like studios use that tech to avoid optimizing their games

32·9 days agoDon’t worry, I don’t think all furries or anarchists are pro-AI, I meant that it saddens me to see people part of the community be pro-AI
Most furries I know are artists, and most anarchists I know are pro-humans, for example.
And true, I did not really check which instance each community was in, but I did know it was possible to browse communities of other instances, I chose piefed.zip because it did not seem to block (or “defederalize” I think some say?) other instances, I want to be able to choose myself what I block
I’ll probably start blocking those that I see have AI icons

It saddens me to learn that furries and anarchists are pro-AI… :(
Even as a programmer, I hate AI so much it’s unreal

Queer less than 25 here, I came here not because I was getting called slurs but because I’m tired of companies and of AI, I’m also on Linux :3
