I can just barely read standard musical notation but it’s far from fluent. I’m wondering if, with enough practice you can look at sheet music that you have never heard or seen before and sound it out in your head before ever touching your instrument?

      Also yes. My wife says that to her, Baroque tuning sounds basically like a half-step below what’s written (which is pretty close).

      This explains, IMO, why so much well-loved Baroque music is in D major. D♭ major is such a beautiful key, after all! 🙂
