they’re weird so they slice it into 6 but that makes it a huuuge slice. well well well worth the $2 imo, it’s certainly a loss leader for them (meaning the cost for them to make it is more than they charge you for it)

yes this is true. I think the soda is probably a profit but less than standard restaurant markups and nowhere near enough to cover the cost of running the food court (making it functionally also a loss)
also I’d imagine the chicken bake is upcycling the rotisserie chickens into less loss than if they were sold as rotisserie (and certainly more than if they threw them out)

the food court is a loss leader to get people to shop in the store, it works.
