What I liked in the first one is how tight everything is. The story is simple but effective, good pacing, the visuals are great, effects are solid, the sound design is top class. It’s just a neat little effective bundle, just like 2012 Dredd or the first John Wick. Sometimes all you need is a simple solid digestable package. I wish we had more movies like this.
Hard agree, I think we’re going to see a breaking point soon where studios get tired of constantly trying to release the next big thing and hopefully get back to making stories that tell just enough
