I replaced the decades-old birdhouses in the trees around our house. There are four birdhouses in this photosphere: can you find them? 🙂

They’re so old they’re rotten to the core. And the trees they were mounted on with strings around the trunks grew so much they raised the old birdhouses a good 10 ft higher than they originally were, and the strings literally strangled the trees - i.e. there’s a deep ring-shaped mark around the trunks where the strings dug into them as the trees grew.

Also, I made sure two of the birdhouses could be seen from our lakeside camera, so my wife who can’t go outside very easily can watch the birds on her computer from the comfort of the living room:

Now all we have to do is wait for the birds to use the new birdhouses. Hopefully they’ll find them to their liking 🙂
