The oldest tech I have are laptops from 2006, 2008 and 2009, a pc from ~2010 and an android phone from around 2012. I also have lots of newer stuff.
I’ve already built a home server from the most suitable pc. What other real use cases for old tech would you suggest? What is your experience?

Those pre-2010s computers might not be too useful for daily driving, perhaps would be great for retro gaming machine. What’s your 2009 piece?
I wouldn’t really bother with the android phone. As much as I’d like that tougher build quality, the inside have come a long way. At some point you’d probably see the 32-bit support to be cut off. Due to all the stuff being locked down, the mods are not as versatile as the PC world.
That 2010 PC sounds promising. Also, what newer stuff?
I’ve been daily driving a bunch of Ivy Bridge machines, and I’m quite satisfied, despite being less energy efficient (i.e. shorter battery life). Maybe it’s just that the 2010s era Thinkpads are just that good.
Anything analog? Audio equipments from early 2000s rock!
