A man who vandalised Sir Winston Churchill's statue in Parliament Square has been found not guilty of criminal damage. Olax Outis, also known as Caspar San Giorgi, sprayed the sculpture with slogans including "Free Palestine", "Stop the genocide" and "Zionist war criminal" in red paint.

Yeah I just close the tab when websites do this. I’m not going to fiddle around just to read their article.

If you hit the refresh/cancel button in your browser at just the right moment it will prevent the subscription wall from loading.

Did any of you actually click the op link? If so, when posted, you’d have noticed ther was no article, only a link to other articles. (Now, there is an AI summary)

What was deleted was one of the articles. So, you’re welcome for the actual content. Or you were before it was deleted. At least it was something.

Yeah, my bad. I have a news aggregator app that shows bias and accuracy. I thought it was the article, not their page

        The foreign activist

🎯 IMPACT: The case highlights the increasing difficulty of securing convictions in high-diversity, left-leaning areas, even when the evidence is overwhelming.

Not just slop, but clearly bias slop too.

Less serious posts should go in !casualuk@feddit.uk or !andfinally@feddit.uk
More serious politics should go in !uk_politics@feddit.uk.

Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think “reputable news source” needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
