So, i remember back in the day, James Bond movies became increasingly silly and campier, until Mike Myers came with Austin Powers, and it kinda flunked the real ones for a while until they decided to retry a more serious style with Craig. I feel the same happened with Scary Movie sending teenage slashers to hide in a corner for a while.
So… Why has no one tried a superhero spoof? At this point this shit writes itself, and it might give us a superhero respite?

I have loved every iteration of The Tick, including the original comics, but the animated series is arguably the best of all, not least because of Townsend Coleman’s outstanding performance as The Tick.
Patrick Warburton and Peter Serafinowicz were great, because they’re great in everything they do, but Townsend is on another level.
Also, Ben Edlund is a comedy genius.
The animated series is the source of one of my favorite quotes that no one understands:
“Read a BOOK!”
“An object at rest cannot be stopped!”
and
“Bad move, Neil!”
are my two quotes from that show that no one ever gets.

That show was so good, but it jumped the shark in the 3rd season. I rewatched it a few years ago, and the chemistry and writing between the three leads was so good. William Katt is a severely underrated actor.

Dude, Austin Powers is just a remake of all the original spy spoofs of the 60’s like Matt Helm and Flint - hell Flint talks to dolphins (and I say this as a huge fan of the Austin Powers movies, they’re hilarious, Mike Myers is a comedic genius).
Bond itself is a full-tilt spoof. I mean just watch Goldfinger - it’s a hilarious send-up of so many tropes.
