I want to be a good steward of Lemmy and do what I can to help grow the communities I’m interested in.

Fortunately, the bicycling community seems to have a solid base already. There are usually posts every week, and a fair number of them generate some good discussion. I’d like to help encourage more of that by posting things people here actually find useful or interesting.

The problem is that “bicycling” covers a pretty huge range of topics. News, racing and performance, training questions, equipment, maintenance, infrastructure, commuting, photos, personal stories—the list goes on.

So rather than guessing, I figured I’d just ask:

Why did you join the bicycling community on Lemmy?

When you open your feed, what kinds of bicycling posts are you actually hoping to see? What gets you to stop scrolling, read the comments, or join the conversation?

I’m curious what people here would like to see more of.

For cycling specifically, I’m much more interested in the performance side of things and what people have learned works for them based on their various goals. I want to see the results and analysis of someone trying to improve their FTP over the course of 3 months, or what training they did to earn a KOM they’ve been trying to get for a while.
