Posting a guard on duty accomplishes nothing. Putting a guard in an isolated dedicated security room, with live cameras, means the silent alarm is always triggered.

They do - you just don’t see it because it’s remote.

The security model for bank branches is to keep limited funds available, and to let robbers get away with what little cash is in a branch. Insurance will cover their losses.

They have very high-def cameras with the latest identity-capability features. These cameras record all motion to commercial security system NVRs in the bank’s own data center.

They have a dedicated security team monitoring all this 24/7 at a remote location (relative to the branches).

This is standard practice for fire/safety/surveillance/access control in large/distributed facilities with high risk or large employee bases.

It even has it’s own insurance and regulatory systems.

Banks do have a shit ton of cameras. Mostly pointed at the employees, because that’s where the highest risk is. But everywhere else, too.

For banks that have guards, they want to be as obvious as possible to act as a deterrent. Better to prevent a robbery than to investigate one after the fact.

The thing is that bank don’t store much cash anymore.

If you want cash and or item with a good resell value with low security, go for cigarette store, or a 24/7 “conveinience store”, the kind of place where people pay in cash, which don’t have complex security protocol and often only one worker.

And before I get charged for pushing for crime don’t forget you’ll most likely get caught and that in many legal system armed robbery is severely punished. Better being a far-right politician like Lepen, so you can steal 4 millions Euro and get an ankle monitor and the right to run for election.

As far as getting caught goes, in a lot of those mom & pop, single employee stores the “complex security protocol” is a .45 under the counter…

They never show up in movies. None of the ones I’ve ever been in have them. And Google says they’re atypical.

It’s probably a safer assumption to assume that the “bank” building template has a money vault, safe deposit vault (if it’s not the same as The Vault), secure networking closet, secure guard room, secure teller area, then whatever space is left over for parking, offices out in the open, secure offices, and whatever the bathroom situation is. You don’t have a bank without the “secure” part and “don’t talk about security” is still security, even if it’s the weakest part.
