Aniara is amazing! Like really, it might not be quite a typical sci-fi story but it is really good. Also so confusing, Harry Martinsson makes up soo many words.

      Absolutely worth reading!

Also, it does not rhyme. He uses a verity different meter throughout the book, few of which rhyme. A lot is free verse. Also the first 29 songs were apparently written under trance. It is truly a very, very strange book.

For a hint at what it’s like, I’d like to quote the second song (so no spoilers here, this is the beginning of the book)

Goldonder Aniara shuts, the siren gives the wail for field-egression by the known routine
and then the gyrospinner sets in towing
the goldonder upward to the zenith light, where
      magnetrinos blocking field-intensity
soon signal level-zero and field-release occurs.

It looks like if James Joyce lived in a slow-rotating space colony.

I can appreciate prose like that, but I personally don’t like reading “challenging” things when I’m reading for pleasure.

I didn’t know about Arne goes to space but now I desperately want to see it… That trailer is just wonderfully goofy
