I will start by saying I think dull man energy and projects are amazing. I wish I was one.
Anyway. I need some help please. I pulled my newish strimmer apart to remove something wrapped around the bit between the motor and feed. And I didn’t take a photo (stupid I know).
I have had a look online and cannot find a service manual or a repair/fix/assemble image. The standard manual is no help. It’s RY18LT33A
The main body is fine and most of it is straight forward. But I have a spring and a little black rubber thing. That popped out. Is anyone good with strimmers that can help suggest where they might go?
I’d like to learn to do this as I am making more of an effort to repair items.
Thanks. I have that and that showed me the rubber bit is a buffer. I clicked that about 20 seconds after i posted.

When I push that it has a little give as per this pic. My mind is saying it goes here but I can’t figure where.
Plus when I took it apart I thought it popped from behind the moto but I can see anywhere behind the moto it would fit. Or why as it seems to be a sealed barrel.
It looks like it could be it to me. Seems like a weird spot for a spring lol probably why it’s not intuitive to reassemble.
I found it. Fixed and look to be pivoting fine. strimmer rotor works fine. Thank you guys
Seems to put sideways tension on the slider that is moved by the foot pedal
If it were me I would break it down to the same level you had before to clean it and try it anywhere and everywhere you can think of as you re assemble. Look for parts that look similar to the ones it is next to on the drawing, long shafts it can slide onto, or little (probably dirty or worn) niches or nubbins that the spring could tuck into or onto. If I had to guess it is probably a spring for bump feeding more string, but it’s just a guess.
