This is why it doesn’t bother me. Once I’ve put it on my calendar, then I personally free up my own memory and forget it until the reminder.
We had a button for that: it’s called delete
I’d probably set up a rule, then it’s less clicking.

Also, if you are this brain-dead you can disable delete after accept, in settings
