Or more likely imo no matter how much the BF said “You’re not bothering me” the anxiety never allowed them to truly believe he wasn’t just saying it to be nice.
I’ve had anxiety like that before, I’d constantly be worrying about bothering my SO with the requests and probably force myself to wait until it was unbearable to even ask in the first place.
