He is not stupid, I think he just has ADHD which means his impulse control is not the best, like when he bought the medieval painting for way too much money.
Of course he could make his life easier by doing those things but then there is no challenge and what’s the fun in that.

I do think he does the arbitrary too soon deadline shtick way too often like a lazy automotive reality TV show would do. Doesn’t bug me enough to unsub but…
What will get me upset is the more dangerous stupid shit he does like when he dug a pit in his sandy yard to fix something under a vehicle with no shoring. So he drove over an unprotected pit in a yard so sandy he can’t grow much of anything and then has the vehicle weight on the sides of the pit and it’s above his chest deep.
Holy fuck. It’s also two safety negligent dudes living together. Backyard Scientist may as well be his twin from another mother.
