A long time ago I watched DistroTube a lot. He made content about Linux and Emacs, just chatting about it into a mic. It was relaxing content.
Then one day he uploaded a video about his gun, why he has a gun and gun rights and shit. He had all sorts of dumb takes, I don’t even remember. After that I just couldn’t watch him anymore.
I really like his accent, and I haven’t seen the gun one (or anything really for ages) but I stopped watching as I just didn’t really agree with a lot of his software points.
Idk he never gave off the kind of vibes that made me want to listen to his advice. I watched a few of the videos especially when he was playing with vim and Doom emacs and they are fine for what they are and pretty relaxed, but there’s just always been a sort of bumpkin feel where I’m more likely to watch what he does and draw my own conclusions instead of taking his recs.
Same with Chris Titus. He released a video about how Elon was right to fire so many Twitter employees at the time of acquisition. He never made another peep about it, especially after Elon rehired or attempted to rehire a lot of his employees.

Same with 8bit guy. Used to love some of his videos, but then I found out he’s a gun enthusiast. No thanks.
