8-9 hours? That sounds abnormal.
That being said, I did pull this trick a few times when I was a teenager. Getting up at an odd hour sucked way more than just staying up.
life hack
Bullshit
Says the person who believes slipping into a coma for 8 hours and hallucinating is somehow “restorative” and will give them energy (as opposed to, say, food, which actually gives you energy.)
There are certain biochemical things the body is able to do only during sleep.
So yea, sleep is as important, perhaps more so, than eating.
People die from sleep loss faster than from food loss.
Try to stay awake for a month vs not eating for a month, guess which will kill you first.
Get a sleep study done, you got something going on.
Nobody who actually understands sleep believes it gives energy all by itself. It gives your brain time to do some “house cleaning,” clearing out the cobwebs as it were. Yes, you wake up feeling a bit more refreshed, but that will diminish in short order without breakfast to give your body the fuel it needs to create that energy you’re taking about.
It gives your brain time to do some “house cleaning,
Bullshit. More like “makes your brain like jumanji and it takes 8-9 hours to clean up”.
If you’re not some weird troll, your doctors are morons for not suggesting a sleep study if you went to them with half as much information as you’ve told lemmy like five different times.
What exactly do you think Jumanji is? It sounds like you think sleep is like Jumanji but in the movies you don’t go into Jumanji, Jumanji comes out of Jumanji. I mean technically one guy, Robin Williams, goes into Jumanji, but the rest of Jumanji is that Jumanji comes out of Jumanji, so it’s not like sleep, and suggesting so makes it clear you don’t know what you’re talking about. Anyway if sleep was like Jumanji you would need medicine and rope and such to get out alive (from the series of jungle emergencies), not just coffee, so maybe try being prepared next time?
😎👉 having an obvious mental health or general health crisis publicly on lemmy and posting about habits that deepen the hole you’re digging
What are you on about?
Deliberately bypassing sleep so you have more energy the next day?
… Go see a doctor already…
I’ve seen loads.
Well stop vague posting about obvious health concerns
You say that like there should be anything to be concerned about.
I won’t diagnose you over internet but if i was in your position, i’d at least take a blood test for thyroid hormones. One of my coworkers had some of similar symptoms and it was hypothyroidism, it’s pretty common and extremely easy to treat
Go see a doc that cares, neurologist and endocrinologist are def on the list
In a previous post you state that you have a hard time following a conversation. Have you considered this is due to you being sleep deprived?
sounds suspiciously like something an alien would say
