I’m shocked that selling a loss making public service to foreign interests with the aim of it running as a for profit business has failed, I can’t recall this ever being a problem in the past. /s

Holy fuck, who knew that taking a valued institution that’s existed for generations, was universally repected and part of the trusted working fabric of working Britain - then selling it to the highest bidder (something that even Thatcher drew the line at), would have some sort of negative outcome?

I miss my post lady. She was cheery, nice to talk to, hard working and didn’t get mail mixed up. Slowly and surely, she got grumpier and grumpier before disappearing. Now it’s a different person every week or so and our mail is constantly late or posted in the wrong door.

Fuck this privatisation and everyone involved

And lately we get cards through the door with just a QR code. So I have to pull my phone out to find my parcel which is sitting somewhere <10m from me. Good job everyone in the country has a smart phone…

Step 1: Make a new hair-brained idea to maximise income

Step 2: Do not, by any means, consult with the actual workers on the ground

    Step 3: Implement it

    Step 4:

Step 5: Halt the idea as a mass exodus of the workers you didn’t consult all start leaving

I would feel bad for the UK with all the shit going on over there, but Australia is not doing great either. Best of luck to us all

I wish i had a time machine to see what history classes would look like in the future. Like today if you’re doing 1945 you’re going to be doing WW2 as if nothing else really happened. I’m sure lots happened.

The government sold it along with all its assets (buildings and equipment paid for by us) for £1, so I’m sure they’ll be happy to now throw more of our tax money after that to bail it out.
