As evil as for-profit health insurance is, it’s actually heavily regulated. These Christian coop schemes are not and can absolutely scam people and not pay out at all for reasons like not having evidence of adhering to a strict moral code (skipped church too many Sundays? Yeah that’s a violation, coverage voided). And when they retroactively decide the person isn’t Christlike enough there’s little recourse for the patient.
