A California community college started its Safe Parking Program for housing-insecure students, while other colleges have students sleeping in alumni’s homes, napping pods, Airbnbs, even an assisted living facility
Yeah but it still sucks and is expensive, unless you own a better motor home:
No toilets, no shower, no fridge, no power, must pay at laundry to was clothes, limited cooking without fridge and enough space. Parking in city center is expensive, parking outside the city needs public transport. Parking in a good area and residents call the police on you, park in a bad area and you get your car stolen or broken into.
There’s a lot of workarounds to a lot of these issues, and they’re all far more accessible in something larger than a sedan. lol
I do think actual solutions about the housing crisis, like, say, rent control. Rent control and taxing unoccupied units like they themselves owe the state money.

This is not a solution it’s a workaround. Sleeping in cars is typically hard sleeping, which is still the problem.
