    Ah. It’s about dishwashers and the reagent that reduces water’s surface tension to disperse droplets which would cause spots when drying.

    For a moment I thought I had discovered another curious american habit. Now I’m slightly disappointed. ;)

        For the non-Americans in the audience: Dish salt isn’t a thing here; it is basically unheard of in the United States for dishwashers to have built-in water softeners. Usually if hard water is a problem a whole house water softener is installed.
