A kink is something you like. A fetish is something you need to get off. While they’re often used interchangeably, they really are two different concepts altogether.

A kink is also typically something at least a little uncommon. You wouldn’t call “I like putting my hard penis in a woman’s vagina” a kink, typically. But “I like when she slaps me” might be.
