    it is paid. if you pay, you are a customer. if you get it “for free”, you are the merchandise that is being sold and the merchandise is not really expected to complain.

      I’m not casting aspersions on kagi, I’ve heard nothing but good things about them, but I don’t agree with the idea that paying means you’re not the merchandise. Once a company gets greedy enough, with few enough competitors, you’ll be both the customer and the merchandise.

        once a thing happens, you reevaluate and choose the best decision at that time, that is how life works. i am talking about today 🤷‍♂️

          Recent history shows that people are realy terrible at reavaluating their choices when companies go deep into enshitification.
