I feel like it would be hard to make it illegal without making a religious exception. But that’s what needs to happen.
I don’t see it as any different than female genital mutilation, which is banned and illegal in most countries. Most people seem to be in agreement that it’s not acceptable. Regardless of religion or cultural views of the individuals doing it. Why is this not applied to boys?
I mean, I personally think allowing harm based on religion is just opening the door for any crime.
