That’s overstating it. There wasn’t even a conversation about it let alone anything as strong as a doctor’s recommendation. More like a default hospital protocol. Which I’m sure you’d agree should be open to question.
I have a hard time faulting people for following a doctor’s recommendation if that’s what was going on.
