convenience is all that matters for the average consumer.
people who collect things are not average consumers, they are enthusiasts.
Modern streaming isn’t even convenient though.
You must not know about the free streaming sites. Arrrrrr, matey!
I meant paid streaming. Piracy is very convenient and very easy.
There are legal free streaming services like Tubi. The catch is you have to watch ads
is it? seems ridiculously cheap and convenient to me.
If you want to watch all the popular shows, you’ll need $150+ of streaming subscriptions, you’ll need to log in to them all on your TV, and you’ll need to use the clunky shitty apps to watch your shows which might have ads in them.
No, you don’t.
You subscribe to to at a time for 20 bucks, them swap to another service if you get bored.
if you subscibe to all services at once you’re just an idiot.
Constantly switching subscriptions is also far from convenient though
what are you talking about? it takes like 5 seconds to cancel a service and 5 seconds to sign up for another one. especially if you already had an account because all your info is already saved.
do you even use any of these streaming services or are you just making up excuses about how terrible they are?
i swap streaming services every 3-4 months. it’s ridiculously easy and fast.
Yes, I did use these streaming services before. That it’s not difficult to do does not make it any less inconvenient. I have not had to think about what streaming service a movie or show is on for a few years now, I can tell you it’s great.
Also they make it not difficult on purpose, so it’s easier for you to spend your money with them on a whim. Not relevant to the original argument, but also more shitty behaviour from these services.
dude, what are you talking about. i told you ti takes seconds to cancel and sign up for each service.
the fact you think a few seconds of time is inconvenient is insane. do you also think shopping online is inconvenient because you have to type in your credit card info?
I still can’t imagine listening to my favourite song knowing that some company can take that away from me on their whim. I couldn’t even enjoy that song under those terms. Maybe some people just don’t value music the way I do.
they don’t.
most people listen to top 20 pop music, not obscure weird stuff.
Whether what you like is top 20 pop music or obscure weird stuff, if you like it surely you’d want to preserve it?
I’m not a music historian, wtf do I care?
I don’t listen to music I listed to 20 years ago. And when I hear it I think it’s shit and I’m embarassed I listened to it.
