Consider that normal people don’t think like us nerds. They choose the shiny-looking version, not the handmade one.
I think that’s changing. Nerds are often the vanguards, but the rest of the culture catches up later.
This is why all these people are enjoying the smooth motion TVs. Shiny, not human and not better.
I sincerely hope you were omitting an /s there, because I haven’t heard of people who like those.
