“you idiots” is clearly a collective reference you fucking moron, if you’ve read any of the other comments here at all then you already know exactly which article I mean, fucking embarassing. Your hypothetical is stupid and has no bearing on the story, nobody is rebuilding a goddamn guitar for $200 and you know it, if you had any dignity you’d accept that you’re wrong and fuck off

Why would you assume I’m going back to read all the comments on this post? Sorry I’m not as obsessive about it as you. And looking at the article you’re referencing, trigger gets maintenance once a year, that does nothing to bolster your claim that it’s always getting fixed. All guitars need maintenance of some sort, but that doesn’t have to mean doing repairs that change the character of the instrument. My hypothetical is appropriate because it’s something that would make the guitar “better” while making it less valuable, doesn’t matter that repair cost is different. In the above example, I could easily see the case that husband pulled the guitar from the trash and felt great pride in turning this busted guitar into a functional instrument (we know it was functional because it was being played before it was taken to the luthier) and loved it for that. Then it’s taken to the shop and is “repaired” to be a “nicer” instrument in a way that erases the work husband did to make it payable. That could be as simple as replacing a credit card saddle with a properly fitted one (which would cost less than $200).

if you had any dignity you’d accept you’re wrong and fuck off
