Interesting. I use mine almost exclusively for reheating leftovers and melting butter, using it perhaps up to four minutes a day.

From my experience at a few different schools, other students don’t care whether you are a freshman, senior, etc. People intermingle pretty freely, although there may be some older students who don’t want to hang out with an 18-year-old fresh out of high school, simply due to being at different places in life.

Anyway, I wouldn’t worry about that.
