That is not me, it is an example of a 9 to 5 in the service industry around the world. You might judge someone working like that but the reality is that the important stuff is not done at the office but at home with the family. That shit pays the bills and it is not really an option to find a job with purpose, that is sadly an idealistic dream, most people just carry on in a job that pays enough to then do other stuff with those they love.

You can find all the dignity you want but at the end of the day you need to take the available jobs or end up on the street.

If some middle manager boss says to some minion to make a quick draft of a keynote of some random info that tangentially may make sense in one of his meetings, and the minion then goes on working on it on full attention for a day to make the beautifullest keynote of the word he did not do a draft and the boss is pissed because other shit did not get done. Having an llm quarter ass a keynote based on a prompt and two refinements is precisely the effort required for that job, any more than that is wasting time.
