My parents had a lot of weird names for stuff that no one else would understand. Basically inside jokes. I grew up thinking “sump pump” was one of them, because of how stupid it sounds.

When I was explaining to my son what the difference between ducks, geese, and swans was, I relied on his knowledge of Minecraft to get the idea across: Ducks are a passive mob. Geese are a neutral mob. Swans are a hostile mob.
