You’d get loads of corruption in the recipient selection process and the money would somehow still stay concentrated in the hands of a few. More creative ways for billionaires to not look like billionaires would be developed, leading to more tax evasion, making things worse overall.

Also, what is a “family”? Who gets to receive that money, whose bank account does it go on? Is this worldwide or just families in the country the billionaire lives in? How does one determine where a billionaire “lives”? There are loads of things that would need to be very clearly defined first and would influence the outcome.

I don’t know a word of Norwegian but I know the internet.

Trolling in its original sense can be extremely annoying but is ultimately harmless and easily and safely ignored (“Don’t feed the trolls”) because the troll will eventually be bored at not getting a reaction. The term has unfortunately come to be used for legitimate criticism that the speaker doesn’t like as well as actual harassment. Sending dick pics or calling out terfs is not trolling.

We have the opposite problem where we refuse to eat snacks without making sure the other gets half. Like “I’d like to eat some crisps, you want any? No? Okay, then I’m not eating any either. No you don’t have to if you don’t want to! Stop! Do not go near those crisps! I don’t want them anymore!” It’s a bit ridiculous, really.

Most people default to “this entity is male” without more context. I do it too, it’s a bit of an issue I try to be aware of but regularly fail. Male is default, female is marked; that’s why the stereotypical “girl” character in video games is just the “boy” character but with eye lashes and lips and maybe high heels. (And non-binary doesn’t exist, obv /s)

So I can see this as making the non-genderedness explicit.
