There’s an abductee account from the 70s or 80s where a logger claims he saw a craft when he was out in the woods and when he approached it, it blasted him back with some kind of energy blast. He disappeared for a few days and when he showed up again he claimed that aliens abducted him and repaired any damage they did to him and just dropped him back off. Dont think he got a steak dinner out of it but the whole account was interesting to me and corroborated by a few of his coworkers he was with when it happened. One of my favorite fan theories is that the authors did not name the ship after the horse from don quixote directly. There is a Rush song called Cygnus X-1 that’s basically a space opera and the ship in that song is called the Rocinate, and one of the authors of The Expanse is a huge rush fan. So in my mind that is where the ships name comes from.
