Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What hyped thing did you fall for that you now regret and have to live with?
1·16 hours agoI was looking at my saved posts and noticed this comment. Are things better for you now??

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Multilingual people of Lemmy who learned a language (or multiple) as adults, how did you do it?
1·19 hours agoIt’s very common for people to watch Netflix shows and youtube… but I dunno, I just can’t seem to get them to grasp what “sounds natural.” It’s like they’re constantly translating (using an outdated version of Google Translate from the 2010s) in their heads instead of thinking in English, you know what I mean? But you may be on to something. Even though I would lose my students, I always tell them to leave Japan and live in an English speaking country for a month or two because the full immersion and necessity will do them more good than 1 year’s worth of lessons with me.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you could be reborn forever, would you want to?
3·19 hours agoI dunno why but your words resonate so much with me. Sounds beautiful. However, I’d rather not long for those I lose. I don’t think I’m strong enough for that.
Uh… so you’re not defending it, are you against garages? Or are you trying to say you’d rather have a garage than a 10m^2 apartment? And what do you mean by “comes with condensation”?

2·1 day agoThis is hardly news. Let alone good news.
A garage they don’t need because they can walk wherever.

0·1 day agoMy job is to teach English to Japanese people, both kids and adults, but anyone over 12 seems really set in their ways when it comes to grammar and sentence structure. I have a really hard time getting them to write coherent sentences like you do.

So happy to hear that! Congrats!
