Seeing some interesting discourse here saying some people need to get over themselves.

Stuff isn’t always whimsical. There’s a BBQ place in my town where they call the less-spicy sauce “Sissy Sause”. I am never the one ordering, happily, or I’d be asking for “faggot sauce” to force them to own up to what they’re doing.

Well, turns out people in different generations, while they may on the whole share various traits, are in fact individuals with different life experiences, temperaments, and attitudes.

That said I am seeing my own Gen-X peers turning “boomer”: entitled assholes who also attempt to turn the abuse and neglect we survived into virtues. I think a lot of this is completely literal survivor bias, but also “survivors” in terms of who gets seen and heard.

TIL. What an absolutely horrific and senseless waste of human life. All for greed, of course.
