No weight needed, you have added spacers to your mouse and increased the distance the sensor is from the table when in use, when the sensor is lifted off and doesn’t have contact it stops mouse movement input.

If you add height your mouse may stutter in use because it thinks it has lifted off but still on the table.

You may wish to remove the original sliders, the extra height may cause the mouse to lift off prematurely.
