Remember that Dominion Voting lawsuit against Fox News? In the discovery were text messages from popular hosts like Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingram. What those texts revealed was that both hosts and the network itself was terrified of viewer revolt. They both admitted to platforming “lunatics” and spreading conspiracies just to mollify their rabid viewers. For context: Fox news had accurately called the 2020 Election for Biden first. Their viewers considered this a betrayal and switched to Newsmax and other far-right channels by the million.

Comedy Central destroyed Nickleback. There was a comedy special or show, I don’t remember. Anyway, they promoted the show with a clip from a stand-up bit that was at Nickleback’s expense. I you watched The Daily Show, or South Park, you would have seen that ad a hundred times. After that, liking Nickleback was an embarrassment.

Go Tell it On the Mountain by Baldwin is such a beautiful work of fiction that you could totally miss the profundity of it’s themes.

The problems with this book are not just “a product of it’s time”. There were authors at the time who could write women characters, Heinlen just wasn’t one of them.

This was my favorite book when I was in my mid 20s. I tried to read it a couple of years ago and just couldn’t.

Batman isn’t an interesting character. His flamboyant rouges gallery is essential and I think a gritty/ realistic Batman-villain undercuts that.

The best gadget are bowl scrapers. I use them more often than knifes.

This is not such an interesting question anymore because it’s a trope to blow the budget on recognizable songs in a shit movie.

But if your looking for the biggest difference in quality, I’d say Singles (1992) Not that the movie is bad, just that the soundtrack is legendary.

EDIT: also because the best tracks are original recordings and not just a playlist of already popular songs.

I’ve got a low-energy Intel Atom server. The CPU is technically 64 bit, but some of the other hardware is still 32bit, limiting you to that.

I’ve been running Debian on it (and several predecessors). I’m stuck on Debian12 because they’re dropping 32bit support after that.

I don’t really use it to “self-host” other than as a file server for backups and Pihole.
