Sock/sock and then shoe/shoe, BECAUSE the shoes may not be in the same room as the socks.

Socks first. Some days I don’t go outside at all but am wearing socks around the house.
Sock shoe, sock shoe, because I have a golden retriever and don’t want her fur on my socks.
Do you store your socks with your shoes? Do you wear shoes all day? I don’t understand how someone would do anything other then both socks then both shoes

My shoes stay at the door and never used in the house.

Maybe it’s cultural but I don’t understand why would anyone wear shoes at home.
Circumstance.
If you’re constantly going in/out, it’s a waste of time.
And honestly it doesn’t make any difference for me - my carpets get just as dirty just as fast whether I take shoes off or not.
I still take them off, but since I clean the carpets I know exactly how little difference it makes. It’s a “feel good” exercise in my house.
