Can’t find clean drinking water, just cut back… Brought to you by the ruling class who is using up and poisoning all the water.
2027: “Do you really need three meals a day?”
Yeah but we didn’t listen and now all the food is poison.
Well, technically, you don’t. If you eat enough calories in a single sitting, you only need one meal a day.
It’s possible, but the spikes and drops in metabolic rates doesn’t work for everybody. If you’re fit and healthy you can probably handle it, but many people need more steady metabolism throughout the day.
Also, your body can only absorb so many nutrients at once. If you try packing all your daily requirements into one meal, you’re going to shit a lot of it out. You might absorb all 2000 calories or whatever, but most of the vitamins, proteins, etc. are going to get flushed down your toilet
I eat half a sandwich a day and I’m still kicking
You must have a sedentary lifestyle because that would not be enough if you did manual labor every day
I worked construction around 18-19. I was a skinny kid, like 130lbs. After working all day the boss would order in food. I once ate an entire large pizza and drank a 2 liter bottle of coke.
Now that I work from home its a lot less LOL
It wouldn’t be enough even if you use your brain slightly more than what needed to doomscroll all day
Lol, 1 liter is nothing. But yeah okay, it could be a liter of water for the poor thirsty AI data centres.
God I hate how this may actually be the motivation behind this article.
journalist drinking 6 pumpkincinnamoncock flavoured chaimoccalattuccinos for 18 bucks each to then sit down and tell people they don’t need a whole liter of water
Looked at the article, and it starts off pretty stupid
While everyone else seems to be slugging H20 from 40-ounce Stanley tumblers, I have never understood the appeal of drinking plain, tasteless water all day.
Some people live in areas where the water tastes bad, but seeing the water as “boring” might mean that you’re drinking too much of the other stuff (soft drinks, juice, sugary etc). It’s not that those other things are not hydrating, but they’re unhealthy for other reasons.
The question feels more pressing than ever given rising temperatures, heat waves
I refuse to normalize a world where people lack access to clean drinking water. 😠
The rest of the article is pretty standard advice. There’s no set amount of water that everyone needs to drink, and your diet/lifestyle/body composition/the weather will all play a role. Going based on thirst is a good indicator, but make sure you actually drink water when you’re thirsty. !hydrohomies@lemmy.ml
But using that to justify unequal access to clean drinking water is a big no.
too much of the other stuff
or that you’re a shill , writing a seo prop piece knowing full well coke is a financial supporter of your “newspaper”
And I think it’s even broader: If I’m drinking water, I’m not buying any other drinks. I’m not supporting the economy, I’m only drinking water.
And if you’re in the subset of people who struggle to register thirst, either through perceiving it as hunger or just not registering it at all; use the pee test.
If your last pee was yellow, drink some water. If clear or nearly clear, you’re fine.
If brown, drink lots of water and pray to Dionysus to become hydrated before the hangover kicks in.
Fully clear usually means stop drinking water for now. It signifies you have had a bit too much water
Measuring liquid with mass units? Toddlerific
Why tho? 1kg=1l, 1g=1ml anyway, and I like to know how much something will weight in my backpack
That’s only for pure H20 (distilled water). Most drinking water has low amounts of mineral salts and other stuff.
So? What is the density of drinking water then, that you specifically mention this when someone says water is ~1?
Over-hydrating doesn’t help, but under-hydrating sure does.
If you’re pee is light yellow ya doin’ fine.
If you’re pee… you are not doing fine.
I could say the same to the data centers. They got to lay off the water bro.
