Anon suffers a hormone dysfunction, blames it on masturbation like a good christian boy.

Doesn’t necessarily mean he’s Christian. Some people are legitimately misinformed. There is a lot of myths regarding sex and masturbation that we really don’t do much to challenge.

For real. Nothing in the real world works like he’s portraying it.

I could see someone having a dwindling libido for unrelated reasons and confabulating a false narrative like this one to explain it. (Though even if he truly believes what he’s saying, it’s likely due to exposure to #nofap nuts.)

Semen is stored in the prostate, not the balls just fyi.

Do I think this person got so good at jerking it that he burned out his sexual functioning, or do I think this guy just aged out of puberty and his bad diet and lifestyle crashed his testosterone?

I’ve always had a bad diet. In my late teens I was physically active and had a super high libido, which till I got my first girlfriend meant jerking it and when I got my first girlfriend, we did it up to 5 times a day (though usually less). Mid 20s I was single most of the time and, you guessed it, took care of my own needs. Late 20s, in a relationship, my libido had decreased considerably, I did think maybe it was all the masturbation, but looking back, there was a lot of stress and my weight was the highest it has ever been.

Now I’m in my 30s, dumped my ex-wife, have lost some of the weight, am more physically active again and it’s summertime. Had some kinda thing last winter that didn’t turn into a real relationship, went 3 times a day with her when she stayed at my place and still wanted more. Now it’s summer, I’m more active physically and I’m even hornier.

Excessive masturbation has had precisely zero long-term effect on me. Short term? Absolutely. But long term, the thing that has affected me the most has been physical activity, body weight, stress level, and surprisingly enough, the seasons. Lots of difference between wintertime here with 6 hour days and mostly overcast skies, everything is muddy, etc… vs middle of June, there’s basically no darkness, sun sets at 10 PM and rises at 3 AM, but it doesn’t even get dark between sunset and sunrise… There’s just so much excess energy. August is even warmer than June, but at least we have nights now.

Mid 30s and still going strong 💪 i can edge for hours. Recently i visited family for a week and didnt fap the whole time, when I finally got home fapped for 5 hours and cummed 7 times.

Sounds like a skill issue tbh. I think in my late teens and early 20s I spent more waking hours with dick in hand than not.

Nah the green text is just total bullshit. That is not how any of that works, medically speaking. Sure you can create psychological issues, and sperm volume can go down temporarily from extreme, eh, flow, but that’s as close to real as the post gets.

Was probably just death grip sydroming himself to the point of nothing being a strong enough sensation to feel.

If you literally beat your meat with an iron Kung Fu grip then no orifice on another person’s body is ever going to be tight enough to give you normal pleasure and you will feel broken and blame the other. Retraining is possible but stop now if you use a strong grip and use softer methods of masturbation.

Death grip should be enough of a reason for dudes to normalize sex toys. Sure you can develop plenty of other unhealthy habits with sex toys, and you can have a perfectly healthy approach without sex toys, but sex toys make it a lot easier to continue to have normal sexual habits once you are sexually active with a partner again

I want to know EXACTLY how much masturbation makes one’s “penis not work” but i suspect it differs from person to person.

Perhaps the first monks were people who wanked once and then went “oh no… Oh no no no”

        https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10910417/

I’ve been taking regular strength Maca like 1000mg a day and a Swanson multivitamin every morning for two months, after a not so great depression battle that left my sexual functions in not a great spot.

I plan on stopping the Maca next month but I’m never stopping the multivitamin.

I was gonna try the prostate blend from Swanson vitamins but there’s a lot of supplements that do the hair loss thing and I’m not about that.

Also you don’t realize how much water intake effects your penis. Staying hydrated is important because it’s not just a muscle, it’s skin and skin needs to stay hydrated.

I also started drinking an electrolyte solution from Amazon every Sunday because I read how much our food is devoid of nutrients.

Life got better I feel more energetic and I don’t feel low.

Yeah pretty much anything can fuck up your body if you do too much of it for too long in the wrong ways.

Weed can be behaviorally addictive even though it doesn’t cause the same kind of neurochemical dependence. Caffeine is just literally an addictive stimulant and nobody talks about how insane it is that it and nicotine are just legal for some reason when a bunch of other stimulants that also cause heart problems aren’t. Let your kid play the wrong video games and suddenly you have a 10y/o with a gambling addiction. Even running is great cardio but it can literally fuck up your skeleton if you run on the wrong surfaces and wear the wrong kind of footwear.

You gotta pay attention to all the shit you’re doing pretty much all of the time to catch whatever your ‘thing’ is gonna be before it damages your body permanently. It’s exhausting. That’s the main thing rich people have over poor people health wise. They get enough time off from both work and domestic responsibility to watch that kinda stuff and intervene with a different coping strategy when it’s getting out of hand. Sure not all of them take advantage of that but that’s a personal problem at least they have the time to do it if they want to.

Edit: it’s wild to think someone thinks something I’m not even gonna bother arguing about is worth that much trouble.

Because they’re largely harmless. Being a stimulant isn’t bad, there’s nothing insane about that.

Also, caffeine addiction is relatively easy to overcome. Nicotine addiction isn’t and tobacco, its main source, contains tons of other crap, which is why governments have been running anti-smoking campaigns for decades but keep their actions against caffeine to “don’t give energy drinks to minors” and “please don’t sell premixed alcoholic caffeinated beverages”.

While true, the person you replied to isn’t completely wrong. When I first got my ADHD medication I had to leave out all stimulants to see how the medication works. I had the most brutal headache and no amount of ibuprofen worked. I had to reduce the caffeine intake gradually to be able to function again.

Weed definitely is addictive. I function way better without it, but it’s just too good to leave out.

They are completely wrong because they’re saying it’s insane that caffeine and nicotine are legal, they blew right past the reasonable nuance.

Lol, guess my ADHD skipped that part. But let’s be honest, nicotine being legal is kinda shit. It’s literally a neurotoxin.

Same number of letters and both begin with a capital A, and neither of them are words in a language that’s common on Lemmy. I think it might just as well be a coincidence, though.

Sockpuppets do exist and certain kinds of people love a good witchhunt.
