This just degrades our museums to gatekeeping culture to only those with means.

Admittedly, having to carry around ID constantly on the off chance that you fancy a visit to a museum, and having your visit logged by way of your ID, sounds dystopian as fuck in an increasingly dystopian world. All students of life must always have free access.
