This is a bite valve from a hydration bladder. I’d like to disassemble it so that I can clean it out and let it dry properly. Is there any way to do that? I tried searching online but the results were either AI garbage or did not apply to this bite valve in particular. Pulling with mediocre force on any of the parts doesn’t seem to do anything, and I don’t want to pull any harder in fear of destroying the valve.
yes, but you’re likely destroy it in the process. bite valves are not designed to be cleanable or fixable, but rather replaceable.
buy a new one. and yeah if it’s too old, they won’t make new ones, so time for a new bladder.
I’ve broken every bite valve I tried to fix.
Most bite valves I’ve had are pretty much universal, the tubing is usually about the same size from one brand to another so you pretty much just need to jam the barb fitting in. If it seems like it’s a little loose you could probably throw a hose clamps on it if you were really intent on not buying a new hose.
At the other end of the hose the fitting to connect it to the bladder may be another story, that definitely changes from brand to brand and over time as they roll out new models, so getting a new one to fit may be impossible.
