The old toilet paper holder didn’t leave enough space between the arm and the wall. It couldnt accommodate the large rolls of toilet paper from costco. I finally changed it out to one that could.
Also fixed two issues with the toilet flush valve. The first is that I found I often had to flush twice to clear the bowl, I figured out how to adjust how much water the flush valve lets out and increased it so hopefully we don’t have to double flush as often.
The 2nd issue I noticed while fixing the first issue is that the flush valve had the buttons swapped so the full flush button aligned with the half flush button on the outside and the half flush aligned with the full flush button.
Hope these changes will make using our restroom a more enjoyable experience.
Have you used screws or a two-side adhesive tape for the holder?
Screws. I reused the screws from the old holder since the backplate that holds the holder up has screw holes in the exact same spot.
I had to do mine because I have a kid that likes to dance on the toilet, and at times falls off and hits the toilet roll holder.
I put the new one a couple of inches to the left so now it’s into a stud and should handle the odd kid falling on it.
Sounds good for the holder, not so good for the falling kid when next he connects with the holder.
You don’t have a cat, I see.
Wait I do have a cat. I have two. Why?
Many cats like attacking the dangling end of the toilet paper, and may unroll a significant portion of the roll doing so. Owners of such cats put the toilet roll ‘backwards’ on the holder, to discourage the behavior.
Hope these changes will make using our restroom a more enjoyable experience.
If this doesn’t work, you could add a plinko game
Maybe I can side mount a pc /s
