It seems wildly racist for the conservatives to say “Not enough social housing? Just evict people we view as lesser”.

It’s nakedly an attempt to pit the poor against each other instead of actually fixing the issue.

It’s victim blaming pure-and-simple. Not only that, but it’s coming from the abuser. The Tories CAUSED this crisis, and now they’re blaming those suffering from it.

This is not a full article, but the readers comments really dunk on this nonsense and I like it.

Just hypothetically, because obviously this wont be happening, but where would they go?

“Could free up to 230,000 homes”. That’ll be about a million people including children suddenly with no home. Thats going to help how?

Andy Burnham: “I want to try to end rough sleeping”

The Tories: “Did you hear that? Labour wants to end homelessness so we need to the opposite! Let’s vow to make 230,000 MORE households homeless”

This is the fucking world we live in

The Tories are spectacularly incompetent, reform have peaked, and done so at a vote share that would not win them the next GE (can’t say I’m particularly surprised you can only get so far with personality-cult politics), and the Tories are still chasing them.

Nobody is on board with any of their idiot ideas lately, there was a huge pushback for their anti-green policies which goes to show how completely out of touch they are.

The Tories are again in panic mode just like David Cameron panicked in 2016. They have restarted their race to the bottom thinking their popularity can be increased by being the Nasty Party again.
