For me it will always be A-Ha’s “Take On Me”, though basically any of OK Go’s videos also deserve consideration for sheer creativity.
For anyone who might not have seen it: Take On Me - A-Ha.
Take on Me is the correct answer.
Ok Go was the first one I thought of
The first one I thought of, but not the one I decided on.
Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
Smack My Bitch Up - Prodigy (the full, uncensored version)
Anyone got a link?
Correct.
What makes it so good?
Watch it and find out.
I did. But I was looking for your thoughts on it. But its fine, not that important. Thanks.
Don’t really have a fave but here are some I enjoy:
This is America is a true work of art.
Thank you for this comment as it allowed me to upvote This is America twice.
And now those dudes have Oscars.

Phil CollinsPeter Gabriel, SledgehammerWhoops
That was Peter Gabriel, mate.
Goddammit
Hands down the best song about Peter Gabriel’s penis. It’s not even close.
Oh man, that’s a hell of a contender.
The Wall, obviously.
Alright, that’s probably cheating, so let’s go with Colorblind by Elliot The BullOr literally anything by OK GO.Edit: Scratch all of the above, it’s Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim.
Honorable mentions:
This is America by Childish Gambino and the absolute insanity that is Deutschland by Rammstein
Personally, most of the stand-outs that come to mind are all OK Go music videos, since they still incorporate the music, but also feature videos that are creative and engaging in their own right. Of theirs’ I’d say I Won’t Let You Down is the best, but I personally prefer Obsession.
Metallica - One
The full version. I saw it on Mtv when I was a kid, maybe 7 or 8, and it altered me.
It’s a good chunk of why I dove head-first into metal. I was into Van Halen, Yes, Rush, etc., but that single (One, haha!) video hooked me for good.
Now, as an old guy, I take inspiration from about everything except pop & country. But damn, I STILL watch that video every now and then when I’m in the mood.
I think most of their music videos are pretty good, but I’ve always liked this one the most I think.
Electric Callboy - We Got The Moves
Knew the song but hadn’t watch the video. Incredible the little hands and microphone 😂
The finger hands are my favorite.
I think this is my favorite song off the new album. I wasn’t paying attention to the lyrics on my first listen and legit thought it was a cover of a classic boy band song until the metal hits.
Amazing song and the video is just wild. Boy band lead singer blasting people with mouth lasers
I showed this video to my girlfriend about 16 years ago and it made her think “oh damn, this guy might be too weird for me”.
Jury’s still out on that. I’ll see what our kid thinks.
Thriller -Michael Jackson.
Uncontacted tribes in the Amazon know how to do the Thriller dance.
Agreed with others that there is no “best.”
That said, Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel was incredibly inventive: https://youtu.be/OJWJE0x7T4Q?is=KD8iB_CjSs2-PII-
As was Jamiroquai-Virtual Insanity: https://youtu.be/4JkIs37a2JE?is=ATzpLv2HAtLVNBiW
And I can’t find it but the original video for Shadrach by the Beastie Boys took a live performance film and then rotoscoped it with impressionistic (expressionistic? I’m not an art historian) brush strokes that somehow just fit the music.
And why is it Windowlicker?
I personally prefer come to daddy
This still scares the ever living fuck out of me
All time video holmes.
About 2000, at someone’s house with 5 friends, Windowlicker came on Rage(late-night music-video show).
In the first 10 seconds, I did the whole , “you got to see this!”.
They did not get it at all.
