thats whats happening to her, i guess she far right herself. her video first caught notice, after her “why i left academia, or gave up being a physicist” im guessing she wasnt telling the whole truth to that video, she probably was so difficult to work with in academia, or a job that nobody wants to hire her, or her political leanings were annoying asf, at first she said something about being a woman and being ignored in the field dominated by men. im guessing people in the comments were right: she was the troublemaker.
Her defending Eric Weinstein, the crackpot who pretty much everybody knows is a Peter Thiel-funded dickhead with a fake theory of everything, was especially crazy.
I also remember her defending Trump’s threats of taking away funding from a certain university, because the university was “anti-semitic” for allowing anti-Zionist protests, but can’t find the video now.
That made me like 99% sure shes bought and paid for by Thiel or some such person. Seeing a actual receipt of a payment from Thiel to her would make me 100% sure.
What hit me there was another YouTuber complaining about her. she bitched about that, and I’m like ohh they’re full of shit. Then I saw another, and a professor, and stopped to listen, they plead their cases. I started digging into it. She’s on the edge of quackery in a lot of her listen to this person and not that person stuff. Quite a bit of her science leaks into areas she doesn’t have a lot of expertise in, and rightful experts unceremoniously dunk on her for hot takes. When I saw it was multiple people and not just influencers looking for steak… I ended up cutting her off.
This is when I stopped watching. What does an astrophysicist know about gender? Why did she feel the need to insert it into an astrophysics video? Scientists: stay in your lane and recognize you might not be the authority you think you are on every subject. Also, irrelevant to the content at hand.
im guessing there was truth about some of the commenters saying she was the one that was “hard to work with” after seeing the first 30seconds of the video(about giving up as a physicist", at first i thought it was anti-feminist comment, but it make sense now.
At some point I noticed that she always sounds like she’s talking with clenched teeth, as if she was on speed. Kinda ruined it for me, also her format is kinda lame.
No a good scientist tests hypotheses so they know if they’re right or wrong. “Mainstream consensus science” is science that has been tested over and over and found, by scientific consensus, to be as correct as we currently understand. It, by definition, has tons of evidence.
So you’ve never heard of a replication crisis. Cool
And I guess you don’t realize that a lot of “science” is statistical association only, with no clear causal factors whatsoever. So you can’t test many hypothesis… Without setting up extensive RCTs… Which… Cost a lot of money and are filled with pitfalls.
And then when new science does come out that shows the consensus has been wrong for decades most people miss the news and they continue to think the wrong thing for a few more decades until they die. And you skipped out on cheese and eggs and (unprocessed) red meat and whole fat dairy for fucking nothing.
But that whole time you were chugging down them sodas and you’re eating all kinds of food that were fat free but full of added sugars. It turns out big sugar paid off Harvard to ignore the evidence against sugar, and to just blame it all on fat.
She’s a right-wing demagogue (likely Thiel-funded) that whines about DEI, ‘cancel culture’, and ‘communism’ while lying about physics. That’s it.
She also got dunked on by six actual physicists, who debunked her rhetoric around how ‘physics is failing’ and how ‘Eric Weinstein is actually a super awesome physics guy’ pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oipI5TQ54tA
im guessing the signs were there, when her video about giving up as a “scientist” because of her opinions, she was obfuscating the nature of why she dint become one.
Speaking of Sabine, I unsubscribed from Alex O’Connor because he kept having pseudo science guests on and wasn’t being critical at all, just letting them yap. Gave me Rogan vibes but hosting Sabine was my last straw.
Or at least a whiff of Rogan, I’m pretty sensitive to any potential red flags these days even if he doesn’t ever fall off as hard as that. Glad someone else agrees, I haven’t looked in a year to know if he’s fallen out of online atheist graces or not.
I’ve seen concerns in comment sections in videos on other channels when he comes up in clips and seen a single video addressing some concerns about his direction, but nothing major to my knowledge.
Others can say it better than me, but her videos went from well-researched science education to takedowns of the scientific process itself, hybothesis, experiment, analysis, forming new hypotheses. And takedowns of scientist in general. Conspiracies like “they’re all trying to waste taxpayer money,” which did GREAT numbers on YouTube.
I enjoyed her early videos saying “String theory is too difficult to verify experimentally, offers too little in predictive power, and gets way too much funding compared to other areas like X Y Z.” That’s a fair opinion and a discussion where rational minds can support their argument, and even agree to disagree.
“Science is sick, academia is dying, the whole field is corrupt, you can’t trust scientists” is her vibe now. You can’t have good faith arguments in that framing.
I haven’t watched Sabine in ages. She has always been fringe… Often cringe.
Science is sick. At least in America… Academia is dying. The amount of people that use AI to cheat is ridiculous. Brain rot was literally word of the year…
People are getting stupider regardless of the subject matter. I think Korn wrote a song about that and how long ago was that?
Have you considered she’s farming for clicks and really doesn’t give a fuck?
Look how she’s been attacked over the years even when she was doing videos that you all really liked I was never a fan but to each their own. Scientific method can take many facets. And that’s the wonderful thing about science is that scientists disagree with each other. But ultimately we should rely upon experimentation and predictive power and falsifiability to determine what is science and what is not.
I like Gareth from See The Pattern. I don’t agree with it everything that guy says. But that’s kind of the point he explores various theories and that’s fun. I can’t say whether they’re right or wrong and I really don’t care cuz it’s presented well and it’s entertaining.
Big bang theory. Hell, probably most of cosmology. It’s all a bunch of bullshit. Our main theory was the brain fart of a Catholic priest and that’s now considered the “secular theory.” You can’t make this stuff up… Oh wait you can. From cosmic inflation to dark matter and dark energy it’s all bullshit I’m pretty sure.
Saturated fats bad. Dietary cholesterol bad. Eggs bad. Dairy bad. Red meat bad. And on and on ad nauseam. Nutritional science is all fucking bullshit pretty much, especially when people love to reduce (too absurdity) it to like is that one thing you got to do or the one thing you can’t do. People worried about salt when most animals will do things that could easily kill them just to get a little lick of salt.
Importance of breakfast? Whatever. Any meal you eat is breaking your fast. There’s no benefit to eating immediately after waking up.
How about the eight glasses of water a day that’s a bunch of bullshit.
And considering how much science is epidemiological and it’s just associations and no proof of causation but most people will lean on the causation anyway even if it’s reverse causation, right.
How about the serotonin deficiency cause of depression?
Does moderate alcohol consumption have any benefits whatsoever?
Are psychiatric diagnosis useful?
Just how important is the microbiome?
Using animal models in place of human models.
How about the replication crisis? How about that about half of all scientific articles are bullshit and many of them get it retracted?
How about the many interpretations of quantum mechanics? Which ones right which are wrong?
Sabine Hossenfelder, after she went full anti-science, like “and you can trust me because i am a scientist, but not like those other scientists.”
I think i stopped watching when she read a fake email to the camera.
thats whats happening to her, i guess she far right herself. her video first caught notice, after her “why i left academia, or gave up being a physicist” im guessing she wasnt telling the whole truth to that video, she probably was so difficult to work with in academia, or a job that nobody wants to hire her, or her political leanings were annoying asf, at first she said something about being a woman and being ignored in the field dominated by men. im guessing people in the comments were right: she was the troublemaker.
The problem with Youtubers is that they need to understand we don’t watch the vids to get a personal relationship with them.
Her defending Eric Weinstein, the crackpot who pretty much everybody knows is a Peter Thiel-funded dickhead with a fake theory of everything, was especially crazy.

it wouldnt be surprised if she associated F,aka musk who primarly funds the ADF too.
I didn’t kniw her, but heard her name critisized in an Angela Collier video once. I get sad at the state of social media sometimes
I liked her covering science, but her takes on politics were either shallow or just wrong.
What hit me there was another YouTuber complaining about her. she bitched about that, and I’m like ohh they’re full of shit. Then I saw another, and a professor, and stopped to listen, they plead their cases. I started digging into it. I unsubbed her when she started going anti-feminist and pro-merz
Her anti trans stuff was also a good warning sign.
This is when I stopped watching. What does an astrophysicist know about gender? Why did she feel the need to insert it into an astrophysics video? Scientists: stay in your lane and recognize you might not be the authority you think you are on every subject. Also, irrelevant to the content at hand.
There’s a huge phenomenon of people who are experts in random fields pretending that it gives the competence to speak about trans issues.
Eg, Helen Joyce is a mathematician but has made her entire career into being aggrieved about trans people.
After knowing it, I agree with the university of Munich kicking her out like trash.
im guessing there was truth about some of the commenters saying she was the one that was “hard to work with” after seeing the first 30seconds of the video(about giving up as a physicist", at first i thought it was anti-feminist comment, but it make sense now.
I tried to get into her like 5 years ago, absolutely couldn’t do it. Her whole personality feels off to me.
You are right and there is all kinds of legitimate criticism against here. That’s not what’s about to follow, please abandon expectations.
What is the deal with her face??? We can all see (and possibly hear) that there’s something going on there, right?
At some point I noticed that she always sounds like she’s talking with clenched teeth, as if she was on speed. Kinda ruined it for me, also her format is kinda lame.
Didn’t know about those other things so… Yikes…
How do you go full anti-science?
Just because she questions mainstream consensus science which has very little evidence going for it?
That’s what a good scientist does. They formulate hypothesis… Theories. Maybe they’re right or maybe they’re wrong. Who knows.
You don’t have to be infallibly correct to be a scientist.
No a good scientist tests hypotheses so they know if they’re right or wrong. “Mainstream consensus science” is science that has been tested over and over and found, by scientific consensus, to be as correct as we currently understand. It, by definition, has tons of evidence.

Roflmao, “mainstream science” 😂

I’ve been so disappointed in the direction he has taken his channel. Rogan vibes is such a good way of putting it.
Or at least a whiff of Rogan, I’m pretty sensitive to any potential red flags these days even if he doesn’t ever fall off as hard as that. Glad someone else agrees, I haven’t looked in a year to know if he’s fallen out of online atheist graces or not.

That’s what you do… you let them talk. No point arguing with fools.
She pretty much always picks a non-mainstream opinion on any given topic, even when confronted with evidence counter her position.
Contrarianism isn’t “what a good scientist does”, it’s stupidity.
If you are genuinely asking and not just defending, this blog post is a starting point to explain: https://timothynguyen.org/2025/08/21/physics-grifters-eric-weinstein-sabine-hossenfelder-and-a-crisis-of-credibility/
Others can say it better than me, but her videos went from well-researched science education to takedowns of the scientific process itself, hybothesis, experiment, analysis, forming new hypotheses. I really liked her quantum physics explainers, like the two slit experiment. I didn’t think she was fringe when she was teaching like this.
It’s obvious that’s what’s she’s doing. But i think she believes the lies at this point.
I like Gareth from See The Pattern. I don’t agree with it everything that guy says. But that’s kind of the point he explores various theories and that’s fun. I can’t say whether they’re right or wrong and I really don’t care cuz it’s presented well and it’s entertaining.
How does that relate to Sabine?
Can you please name an example one or two of things that have reached “scientific consensus” yet have very little evidence?
How about just one. One thing.
I’m really curious to see what it is that you think words mean.
Big bang theory. Hell, probably most of cosmology. It’s all a bunch of bullshit. Right, so you just don’t know how the scientific method works.
Lol… Jerk? Nah. You’re just fucking clueless. I wouldn’t dare assume malevolence where it’s obviously just ignorance. Have a blissful day.
shes not a scientist thought, she got kicked out of academia, for her obvious promblematic issues.
