I replied to someone saying that the USSR defeated the Nazis saying that it was a group effort. Got into an argument and called a Nazi repeatedly because “I was mad that the USSR defeated the Nazis and hated them for it” which is ridiculous. This isn’t the first time that’s happened on Lemmy. What’s up with that?

Sometimes a user’s views don’t align with the echo chamber they are posting in. When that happens in a political community, it usually ends in removal to protect said echo chamber.

I never see anyone get called a Nazi in cat picture communities.

So your insgance is not an echo chamber and this one is? Based on…?

Oh, is it because you get downvotend and shit talked here? Do note the lack of removed comments and bans.

Surely you can disagree and say Russia is bad for invading places. Surely that’s not going to be removed, right?

Or say Stalin wasn’t perfect. Surely the modlog on .ml doesn’t have thousands of those comments removed.

If you check the mod logs, it’s not even the mods that run their own instances. It’s mostly the admins.

Fitting in an authoritarian shithole, isn’t it?

Those two are specifically emmirants from .ml. Ones with a colorful history in the modlog, though you’d have to use their .ml handle

So just like reddit? That’s disappointing.

Fair enough. I just thought it was weird to get called a Nazi for disagreeing that the USSR didn’t singlehandedly defeat the Nazis.

People keep talking about blocking .ml, yet I still see cringe as fuck feudposting all the time. Curious.

Then why the fuck do you idiots come to other servers and sign up once you realize a large portion of the fediverse has your instance blocked? Seems to me, you’re the one who can’t stay away from “libs”.

If you want to avoid them, you should stop making accounts on their instances and going into their spaces. Hope this helps!

It’s people using a discussion platform to talk like people do. That’s been going on much longer than Reddit. And they always think they’re better than the other ones. Again, people being people.

i did a test, after 1+year of shadowbanned, a new account dint get banned, i avoid the major subreddits though. im guessing reddit gauges ban based on severity like ban evasion attempts, bots/spammers i think will have a difficult time making accounts(unless they are paying for mehtods to evading).

different IP+ device still work. but i am only there sparingly, asking niche subs that arnt on reddit.

i got site banned from reddit for posting a picture of my cat on my porch.

by the ‘cats can’t ever be outside’ people reporting my post as violence.

there are extremist nutcases in every community. the problem is they are hypocritical bad faith actors, almost always. who feel anyone that represents anything they dislike means they should have free reign to abuse and harass those people.
