I replied to someone saying that the USSR defeated the Nazis saying that it was a group effort. Got into an argument and called a Nazi repeatedly because “I was mad that the USSR defeated the Nazis and hated them for it” which is ridiculous. This isn’t the first time that’s happened on Lemmy. What’s up with that?
How in the world would you come to that conclusion, unless you’re stupid enough to equate a dictator with absolute power, and a military commander under said dictatorship with full government authority, to a literal slave that staged a rebellion against actual oppressors?
Nat Turner was actively a slave and staged a rebellion for his freedom and the freedom of the other enslaved people around him. And was executed for it.
Fidel Castro was a dictator with full power. He WAS the oppressor. A more apt analogy would be siding with the people that Castro killed for not wanting to live under a dictator. Or the gays that Guevara put in concentration camps and had murdered rising up and rebelling against him.
