Exactly, the problem is drivers are distracted or simply don’t look out for cyclists and miss them. Having 1 or 2 lights has little to do with it.
Some guy once had to break suddenly because he didn’t see me when I was crossing the road on a marked, well lit pedestrian crossing. His excuse also was that he “didn’t see me”. Drivers have to pay attention. Cyclists and pedestrians can’t do much about it.
