  • It’s the only open source heart rate monitor that Im aware of.

Are the ANT+ heart rate monitor chest straps not just sorta generic? I realize that’s not the same as being open source, but if they’re too single-function to be running nontrivial software at all then I don’t care that much.

I mean not for navigation. But what do you need other than that? My friend send me safe routes to ride and I need some way to navigate them so that’s why I have one.

Well, I was thinking it’d be nice to see info like speed, cadence, and other sensor data while I ride. And I admit, the fancier features on some bike computers, like “hill climb planning,” seemed kinda neat.

  • why include an instance that doesn’t?

Because it lets you see how common or uncommon defederations are relative to the total set of all instances (or at least, all minus the long tail of very-low-user-count ones). And although it would make the graph larger, it would also make it sparse and IMO that would also be easier to read.

It could also give a misleading impression that all instances defederate or are defederated by somebody, making people think it’s more common than it actually is. (Or maybe not doing that, if you include allish instances and it still ends up being not very sparse.)
